LOCAL HONORS AND AWARDS
Violet Richardson Award
This award is given annually to a girl
between the ages of 14 and 17 who is active in volunteer service.
This year, $250 will be given to the winner, and $250 will be
donated to the organization where she volunteers. Deadline for
completed applications is December 1.

Women's
Opportunity Award
This need-based award is given annually
to a woman head-of-household who is enrolled in college or a
vocational training program in order to increase her employment
options. The $1,500 cash grant may be used for anything that helps
her achieve her education goals: tuition, books, housing,
transportation, child care, etc. Deadline for completed applications
is December 15.

Ruby Award
This award is given annually to a local woman who,
through her personal or professional life, works to improve the
lives of women or girls. A donation will be made to the charity of
her choice. Nominations must be received by February 1st.
